Never Take Your Toddler to a Broadway Show
So we tried to go see Annie the broadway musical and it didn't go so well. It was the whole family: mom, dad and 3 girls. Our toddler is really into Annie and we, well I, thought it would be a great idea to go see Annie. After all at home all she sings is "Tomorrow" and "Its a Hard Knock Life." So we all trekked to Times Square and were so lucky to find a parking spot across the street from the theater (it was Sunday but still it was very lucky). Once we got into the theater and found our seats, we immediately lost her "lambie," who she can't live without, her transitional object who she cuddles and sleeps with everyday. We looked for it in the dark theater and then decided we would wait for intermission. Surprisingly, at that time, she wasn't very concerned about its whereabouts. Once the show started, her attention lasted about 15 minutes, enough to see the opening act and check out the place (the theater I mean). What did I learn that day? The theater has a pretty clean bathroom (we took about 6 trips), there are alot of stairs (alot), and that even a toddler that is Annie's biggest fan in the living room will not sit though a broadway show (or even 30%of it). I really would like to watch that show one day, maybe I will take her when she turns 12. And oh yeah, about the "lambie" she was found 2 rows down on the ground in front of someone's seat! Thank goodness....
