Fourth of July Flag Cake Recipe

Happy Fourth of July! I hope everyone is getting ready for their celebrations! I have a quick and easy recipe for making a flag cake that I have used over and over in the past few years because it's easy to make and delicious!

The first thing you need to do is buy the following items:
  1. Any type of plain/butter pound cake.
  2. Two packages of gelatin mix for making Jello. Any flavor will do as long as its red.
  3. Package of blueberries
  4. 16 oz of strawberries
  5. Cool Whip (16 oz)
Next you need to boil 1 1/2 cups of water and mix it with the gelatin mix. Make you dissolve the mix completely. After it is dissolved, add 2 cups of ice cold water and mix again. Set aside.
Cut 3/4 of the strawberries into small slices. Add blueberries and strawberries to the gelatin mix.

Cut the pound cake into 1 to 1 1/4 inch slices and use them to line a rectangular pan:

Next pour the gelatin mix over the pound cake and refrigerate for 4 hours.

After 4 hours have passed, cover the cake with cool whip. Decorate with blueberries and strawberries to resemble the American Flag! Refrigerate again until ready to serve! Enjoy!

Happy 4th of  July!
